Colour Blocking

Loud and proud colour combinations make for a dynamic, confident look.

Emerald, purple, pink, aqua, green, yellow, red, black, gray — the multihued slick of color.

The effect had a refreshing energy about it: pragmatic modernism dealt out in color-blocked jersey layerings of tees, sinuous skirts, and capes, or dresses with a graphic simplicity (the best of those came later: a half-black, half-nude toga elegantly cut from two squares).

It might not seem like the most wearable of this summer's trends, but it IS possible to get wearing block colour right - even if you're pale and interesting. The trick is choosing the right shades and styles.

Every summer the fashion industry creates colourful summer clothing. Sometimes they will narrow it down to one colour or a certain type of print; this season however many designers have combined a variety of colours in blocks to create an altogether more interesting combination.

If you feel that bright colours just don't suit or indeed are far too attention-seeking for you then keep it cool. Of course, your clothes can be in muted shades just add a brightly coloured bag or pair of shoes and you will look as current as everyone else.
